The interior at Alto Wines new wine tasting & restaurant skilfully blends rustic charm with modern sophistication, aiming to enhance rather than replace the existing historical architecture.

The brief was for a temporary renovation, as the new building is currently under development. In adhering to the concept of “genius loci” -the spirit of the place, the temporary renovation at Alto’s Heritage estate was meticulously designed to embody and amplify the unique essence and character inherent to the location. This guiding principle ensured that every aspect of the interior design not only respects but also enhances the existing historical architecture and the natural surroundings of the estate.
The concept aligns with the estate’s key values, blending tradition with innovation, creating a welcoming atmosphere, striving for excellence, and celebrating its rich heritage.

Existing terracotta tile floors harmonize with dark wood and cane details in joinery, while textured walls contribute to an elegant and authentic atmosphere. This approach ensures the interior complements the historical elements of the estate, offering a fresh yet respectful tribute to its storied past and vision for the future, making it a place where visitors can enjoy the essence of Alto’s Heritage in a space that feels both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition.
